ABOUT GRAVES CREEK CAMPGROUND

Several miles northeast of Lake Quinault lies North Fork Campground and its sister camp even further upriver, Graves Creek. Both are remote and fairly primitive, accessible only by a pair of roads that alternate between paved and gravel surfaces. Graves Creek sits right along the rushing Quinault River, with some sites providing direct access.

Nearby is a popular backpacking trailhead providing access to an ONP gem, the Enchanted Valley. This trail is the only way to see certain coveted views in the eastern regions of the park, and links up with other key trails to the east and north. Another lesser used trail leads east to Camp Pleasant and the Staircase campground on the park’s southeastern corner.

On the east side of Lake Quinault can be found the World’s Largest Sitka Spruce. The Lake Quinault Lodge and a couple of general stores provide the nearest grocery and gas supply, but there are more options nearby on Hwy 101 including some nice lodging. Restaurants usually close by 9pm or earlier.
